About Friends of ISSCR

Who we are
The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) speaks for 2,500+ members in more than 45 countries who are advancing the scientific, ethical and clinical frontiers of stem cell research of all types.

The Friends of ISSCR program is the fundraising arm of ISSCR that helps keep our scientists communicating their latest findings so that all researchers are equally engaged, regardless of geographical imitations placed on their work.

Independent of political and commercial pressure, each year the promise of stem cell research is abundantly demonstrated in the newest findings presented at the ISSCR Annual Meeting.  This three-day conference of more than 2,000 scientists brings the leading researchers together to present cutting-edge studies demonstrating the great potential for improved understanding and treatment of terrible diseases such as cancer, diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and many others.

Friends of ISSCR ensure this type of essential global collaboration continues to exist; advancing general research involving stem cells and encouraging education in all areas of research and application.
